FAQ  POCKET ELECTRONICS

Question: Can I use your modulation wheels, joy sticks and linear position sensors in combination with Pocket Electronics or CTM64 (English)

1. Modulation wheel / pitch bender: The potentiometers of the modulation wheels resp. pitch bender we offer as spare part do not cover the complete rotation angle. If they are connected to GND and +5V (as in the Pocket Electronic) only about 50% of the Midi data range 0...127 are covered. But you could adjust the wheel to define which section of the data range is sent: e.g. ~ 0...60, or ~ 34...94 with 64 in the center, or ~ 70...127. In our keyboards (LMK2+, LMK4+) an additional electronics (voltage amplifier) expands the voltage range of the wheels to 0...+5V but this is circuit not included in the Pocket Electronics.

2. Joy stick: The potentiometers of the joy stick we offer as spare part for the A-174 module cover the complete rotation angle. If they are connected to GND and +5V (as in the Pocket Electronic) the complete Midi data range 0...127 is covered.

3. Linear position sensor: The linear position sensor we offer as spare part for the A-198 module resp. R2M works as a normal fader potentiometer but the wiper is lifted off as long as the sensor is not touched. As soon as the sensor is touched the wiper is connected to the resistance track and can now be treated like a normal linear potentiometer. In combination with Pocket Electronics there are 3 possibilities:
