Ältere Geräte mit Firmware V1.xx und V2.xx können auf die aktuelle Version 3.xx aufgerüstet werden. Hierzu muss die bisherige Basisplatine durch die neue ersetzt und einige integrierten Schaltungen von der alten auf die neue Basisplatine (einschließlich des Hauptprozessors im PLCC-Gehäuse) umgesetzt werden. Der Data-Potentiometer wird durch einen Endlos-Encoder ersetzt und es kommen die CV/Gate-Ausgänge hinzu, was das Bohren/Stanzen der entsprechenden 6 Löcher in der Rückwand erfordert.

Im Anhang der MAQ16/3 Bedienungsanleitung sind die erforderlichen Schritte genau erläutert. Anhand dieser Angaben können Sie entscheiden, ob Sie den Update selbst durchführen wollen. Sie können Ihr Gerät auch zu uns oder einem authorisierten Service-Betrieb einsenden und den Update bei uns durchführen lassen. Die aktuellen Preise für den Update beim Einbau durch den Kunden bzw. beim Einbau bei uns finden Sie in der Gesamtpreisliste. Hinzu kommen die Versandkosten in beide Richtungen.

Bei Geräten, die bereits mit der neuen Basisplatine ausgestattet sind, ist eine Aufrüstung auf die aktuelle Version durch einfachen Austausch des EPROMs möglich. Sie können an Ihrem Gerät von außen erkennen, ob bereits eine Firmware 3.xx auf dem Gerät läuft. Die Versionsnummer wird nach der Inbetriebnahme im Display kurz angezeigt.

Older devices with software V1.xx or V2.xx can be updated to the topical version 3.xx. This requires the replacement of the old main board by the new one and the transfer of some integrated circuits from the old board to the new one (including the main processor with PLCC case). In addition the data potentiometer has to be replaced by the rotary encoder and 6 holes for the CV/Gate sockets have to be drilled or punched into the rear panel.

In the appendix of the MAQ16/3 user's manual all steps required for the update are described in detail. You may order the update as a kit if you want to update the device yourself. Please read the appendix of the user's manual carefully to decide if you are capable to do the update yourself. You may even send in the MAQ16/3 to the factory or an authorized service company for the update. The current prices for both versions can be found in the price list. The prices do not include the shipment charges (both directions).

If your unit is already equipped with the new main board an update to the latest firmware version is carried out simply by replacing the EPROM. You can find out if your MAQ16/3 contains already the new main board by checking the installed firmware version. It is displayed for a short time after power on. If it shows 3.xx (xx = any number) the new main board is installed.

The latest firmware version for the old main board was 2.04.
