Sync Main

Sync with MidiRealtime =  Start,Stop,Cont,Clock

You can sync DarkTime with any suitable piece of MIDI gear e.g.  DAW's, groove machines etc.

To do this, DarkTime sends or receives MIDI realtime events, like MidiStart, MidiStop, MidiCont, MidiClock data.

A MidiClock event is like a pulse signal of  24 pulses per quarter note (24 ppq) which presents the tempo and additional Start-/Stop- and Continue-
commands.

These datas are not related to a specific MIDI channel but are global.
So settings of a certain send or receive channel are not required for midi realtime data transmission.

For more details, pictures and some examples also read paragraph 3.2.1 and 3.2.2 of the DarkTime manual.

DarkTime as Master

Connect the external midi device, DAW etc. with it's Midi-In or USB-Port to the Midi-Out or USB port of the DarkTime.

To synchronize an external midi device, DAW etc. from the DarkTime set the  DarkTime Sync switch to 'Internal' position.

Set up the external device, DAW etc. as a 'slave' / on 'external synchronisation' as described in it's manual.

Example:
Ableton Live - coming soon
FL_Studio - coming soon
Reason - coming soon

Now midi realtime signals as Start,Stop,Cont and Clock could be generated on both Midi-Out and USB-Midi port of the DarkTime simultanious.

The tempo of the MidiClock depends of the Clock knob of the DarkTime and also controls the BPM tempo of the external midi device, DAW.

DarkTime as Slave

If an external device, DAW etc. should control  DarkTimes  Start,Stop,Continue and Tempo it has to be set up as master as described in it's manual.

Example:
Ableton Live - coming soon
FL_Studio - coming soon
Reason - coming soon

Connect the Midi-In orUSB port of the DarkTime to the the Midi-In or USB-Port of the external midi device, DAW etc.

Attention:
Onyl use  exclusive Midi-In OR USB of DarkTime to receive Midirealtime events.

Otherwise they will both receive simultanious Midirealtime and these separated events will  then be mixed.

DarkTime will not be damaged or something, if you do this, but you then will get unwanted effects. Otherweise you can use this a an experimental feature  ;-)

Then to act DarkTime as slave, set it's Sync switch to  "Midi/USB".

DarkTime will then obey to incoming to incoming MidiClock , MdiStart,Stop,Continue commands.

Now DarkTime's  tempo will follow the tempo of the external device, DAW. The Clock knob of DarkTime is without any function in this situation.
